Greece was beautiful to fly into over the Mediterranean. The population of Greece is approximately 11,283,293 (11.2 million). The population of Athens population in 2004 was 796,442. The issue of financial collapse depressed the mood there. Staying with a local Greek lady Vanessa who hosted groups of couch surfers was a lot of fun. Great to find companions on the journey. What interested me about Greece was that it was the originator of the idea of democracy.
